Geckos

Geckos are some of the most popular and rewarding reptiles to keep, known for their fascinating behaviours, varied appearances and, in many cases, relatively manageable care requirements.
At Smith’s Reptiles, we work with a carefully selected range of gecko species suited to both beginner and experienced keepers. Our focus is always on health, correct husbandry and ensuring each gecko is matched to the right environment and keeper.

Choosing the right Gecko
Geckos vary widely in their care requirements, activity levels and environmental needs. Before purchase, our team will be happy to discuss your setup and experience to ensure the species you’re considering is a good fit.
If you’re new to geckos or looking to progress to a more specialised species, we’re always available to offer guidance and honest advice.

Leopard Gecko
leopard gecko is a charming little reptile with striking spotted patterns and a calm, docile nature. Known for their big eyes and gentle disposition, leopard geckos are ground-dwellers that love to explore their surroundings and hunt live insects. With their slow blinks and quirky tail-wiggles, they’re a favourite for both beginners and seasoned keepers alike.
Crested Gecko
With its “eyelash” crests and sticky toe pads, our crested gecko is a playful and expressive climber. Native to New Caledonia, this nocturnal gecko is always on the move at night, leaping between branches and exploring every corner of its enclosure. Its soft skin, goofy expressions, and wide range of morphs make it a real star in our collection.
Mourning Gecko
Tiny, active, and endlessly fascinating, our mourning geckos are full of personality despite their small size. These parthenogenetic reptiles (meaning all individuals are female and reproduce without males) are constantly on the move, chirping and exploring their tropical enclosure. Fast, social, and surprisingly vocal, they’re a lively addition to our collection and a favourite in group displays and bioactive setups.
Viper Gecko
Tiny but eye-catching, our viper gecko has intricate markings and a unique ridged tail that gives it a fierce look despite its small size. Native to arid regions, this desert dweller is quick, curious, and surprisingly bold for such a little gecko. It’s a fascinating species to watch, especially when it’s on the hunt or showing off its agile movements.
Gargoyle Gecko
Our gargoyle gecko is a rugged-looking beauty with a chunky build and bumpy texture. True to its name, it sports horn-like ridges on its head and a strong tail perfect for climbing. This gecko thrives in its humid habitat and shows off its vibrant colours and patterns, especially when hunting or hanging out on a favourite perch.
Caledonian Giant Gecko
The gentle giant of the gecko world, our New Caledonian giant gecko often called a “leachie” is as fascinating as it is large. With its thick body, soft skin, and deep growls, this gecko brings a prehistoric vibe to the collection. Despite its size, it’s a shy and calm creature that prefers a quiet, humid environment to stretch out and snooze.
